Workshops and Courses with The Big Draw Festival

I am pleased to be taking part in The Big Draw Festival 2021 and have an exciting and inspiring programme of events coming up, celebrating #MaketheChange.
Watch this space for more details shortly and check out www.thebigdraw.org

The Big Draw Festival takes place all year round, with the official Festival month being celebrated in October. Since 2000, the international celebration of drawing, which brings people together under the banner ‘drawing is a universal language’, has taken place annually across over 25 countries, involved over 1000 events and has encouraged over four million people back to the drawing board.

Arts education charity, The Big Draw, which is the founder and driving force behind the festival believes that ‘everyone can draw’. They also promote drawing as a universal language that has the power to change lives and unite people of any age, background, race, or religion from around the globe. No previous drawing experience is required, although plenty of well-known artists take part, including: Children’s Laureate Chris Riddell, artist Tanya Raabe-Webber, illustrators Oliver Jeffers, Posy Simmonds and Sir Quentin Blake. Kate Mason, director of The Big Draw says: “As always, The Big Draw Festival is for anyone who loves to draw, as well as those who think they can’t! The Big Draw Festival brings together hundreds of thousands of people to learn, experiment and bring ideas to life through drawing and play. “Whether organising or participating, The Big Draw Festival is an opportunity for individuals, organisations and even countries to join a global community in celebration of the universal language of drawing.”

There will then be drawing demonstrations focusing on proportion and anatomy and Bethany will be on hand to answer questions, give creative advice and add in the occasional animal fact throughout the whole session.

The Animal references will be on screen during the session and so it is recommended that you use a device with a good-sized screen. The session will last approximately two hours. There will be plenty of time to ask questions and I will make some time for individual feedback on your artwork at the end of each session (allow another 15 mins on class time if you would like feedback).
