Mixed ability; suitable for both beginners and those with more experience.
This is an exciting course which will introduce you to watercolour painting. You will learn how to use a range of different processes and techniques, both traditional and experimental. You will work towards developing your own individual style of painting. You will create a range of studies, and finished works. You will work from photographs and still lifes. You will also used mixed media with watercolour.
Hand outs will be provided and the tutor will advise you on any further reading that might be useful and/or of interest to you. A basic tool kit will be required - see below. Additional/optional materials will be advised by the tutor.
For the first session you will need to buy/bring:
Pad of watercolour paper 140lb – A4 or similar size. Medium texture (called Cold Pressed or ‘N.O.T.’) is recommended.
Selection of watercolour brushes, must include one large round. (soft synthetic or natural hair)
Selection of watercolour paints – tubes or pans.
4H and 4B pencils
Pallet or old plate.
Water pot (jam jar)
